Ryan works in media relations and grassroots advocacy for clients, helping to bolster political support and public understanding of complex issues. As a former journalist, Ryan knows how to craft multifaceted issues into a compelling narrative that will resonate with the public.

He works primarily on media relations for clients in a variety of industries, including transportation, energy and healthcare. Drawing on his own experience as a journalist, he has developed the skill of pitching stories to media outlets and honing messages to specific audiences. He also works closely with the policy team at Capital Results, translating public policy and regulatory jargon into talking points for clients.

Ryan worked in newspapers in Florida and Virginia for seven years before joining Capital Results. He primarily covered education during his time as a journalist, but also led statewide investigations and contributed regularly to the USA Today national team. In addition to covering schools Ryan covered public hospitals, the Florida Department of Corrections and local government. His reporting garnered awards and led to legislative reforms and state investigations.

A 2004 graduate of Virginia Tech, Ryan moved to Richmond in 2021, happy to be back in the Commonwealth after his time as a Florida man.
